USS Panamint - Battle and Service Awards

The USS Panamint was awarded one battle star for service during the battles for Okinawa and Ie Shima. During the fighting, the ship survived several kamikaze and torpedo attacks. Not a single crewman was lost to hostile action.

Service Medals:

American Campaign Medal The American Campaign Medal was awarded to personnel for service within the American Theater between 7 December 1941 and 2 March 1946.
Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal was issued to commemorate the service performed by personnel of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard who served during the period between 7 December 1941 and 2 March 1946.
World War II Victory Medal The World War II Victory Medal was awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the Government of the Philippine Islands who served on active duty in World War II at any time between 7 December 1941 and 31 December 1946.
Navy Occupation Service Medal (with Asia clasp) The Navy Occupation Service Medal was established to commemorate the services performed by the personnel of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard in the occupation of the territories of the enemies of the United States during World War II.
